GOALS

    • Implement, enrich, and support the educational program of the school system.

    • Provide students an opportunity to work both directly with the media personnel and independently within the media center utilizing its many resources.

    • Provide a variety of materials at various levels of difficulty, with diversity of appeal, and the presentation of different points of view.

    • Utilize all appropriate networking systems to access and disseminate information.

    • Provide materials that will enrich and support the curriculum, taking into consideration the varied interests, abilities and maturity levels of the students served.

    • Provide materials that will stimulate growth in factual knowledge, literary appreciation, aesthetic values, and ethical standards.

    • Provide materials from opposing sides of controversial issues so students may develop, under guidance, the practice of critical analysis of media.

    • Provide materials representative of the religious, ethnic, and cultural groups and their contributions to our American heritage.

    • Provide a background of information which will enable students to make intelligent judgements in their daily lives.

    • Provide teachers with pertinent information regarding student progress, problems and achievements as observed in the media center.
