The Division of Instruction supports students, teachers, families and staff across the district as they deliver high quality and rigorous instruction to students from Prekindergarten to 12th Grade. Instructional staff actively collaborate with colleagues from across the state, region and nation to ensure that our program aligns with state standards and aids students in becoming college and/or career ready. Providing quality resources and relevant training on new approaches for staff is a priority in that effort. The division works to provide support and guidance to families and students alike while they adjust and meet the instructional expectations in this new environment. In addition to instruction, curriculum, and professional development, the Chief Academic Officer also oversees assessments, technology, and communications.
Dr. Briggs earned his Master of Education in School Administration from Salisbury University in 2005 and earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in the Contemporary Curriculum Theory and Instruction: Literacy Program in Spring 2018. Dr. Briggs lives in Salisbury with his wife, Kristen (a Wicomico County teacher), and children Ella and Owen, who attend Wicomico County Public Schools.
