Parent Message 10-13
Good evening Clippers. This is Principal Savage with your weekly message.
In last Sunday’s parent message, I started off by saying that we sure do seem to have some busy weeks here at JMB and then we have this past week. A week that was filled with its own emotion and business.
I believe that it is important that when life brings negative experiences and feelings that we look to create a positive. Despite the tough week, I think as a school we bounded a little more, we embraced the memory of a former student, and we continued forward by showing our school spirit. JMB STRONG!
This week we also celebrated one of our teachers, Mr. Magaha who was the recipient of the Extra Mile Award. Mr. Magaha was honored with this award for his continued encouragement of others. We are so proud of Mr. Magaha.
On October 26th our homecoming game will be here at the Shipyard at noon and the dance will take place later that evening from 7:30-10:30. Along with the dance we will be providing students with the opportunity to play games in the gym. Our SGA is in need of parent volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Mr. Davis our SGA advisor at bedavis@wcboe.org.
If you have any questions about your student’s attendance or ways to make up unexcused absences, please be sure to reach out. The attendance make-up process is designed to help students who are absent with support and time to make up any missed work.
We still have lots of students who are not registered to take the AP tests in the spring. College Board is requiring that registration and payment take place before the 15th of October. If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Klaverweiden at kklaverw@wcboe.org.
1. Students must sign up through their college board AP class join code to have access to each AP class he or she is taking.
2. Within that College Board online platform for each class, elect to register for the test.
3. Pay for each AP test online using MyPaymentsPlus.
These steps with links are detailed on the Board of Education website under “For Students” then “AP Exam Registration” at https://www.wcboe.org/domain/2238.
Believe it or not the first term will end in 14 school days. Please make sure you check in on your student’s grades.
Be sure to check out our bulletin and Facebook for all the upcoming activities and events this week and just a reminder we only have four days of school this week.
Thank you and have a great evening.
