Senior Parent Message 5-29
Good afternoon Clipper seniors and Clipper parents. This is Principal Savage with your last senior message.
Tomorrow is our official 2020 Graduation at 2:30 which will air on Pac14 and YouTube. Please see the attached slide for more information. JMB Graduation Viewing Information.jpg For your planning purposes the 2020 Graduation Ceremony will last about an hour and half. Following the graduation, we will have a special video of our alma mater being performed by our seniors who were apart of Concert Choir. The alma mater will air on our JMB Facebook page. We will also make available all the photos from the graduation walks that took place at the JMB Shipyard which you will be able to download.
In order to allow you to follow along with the graduation ceremony, a copy of the graduation program is available in the email portion of this message. Two official programs will then be provided to each student along with their diploma. JMB Grad Program.pdf
As you celebrate graduation tomorrow be sure to share and post those pictures and smiling faces.
Every year we gather data to determine how much each graduating class has been offered finically to attend higher institutes of learning. Normally the collection of this information is done at school as part of a senior survey. Due to the school closure the tracking of this information has been more difficult. However, we want to ensure that we capture all that has been offered to this very special class. If you haven’t already done so, please take time to complete the survey. The link can be found in the email portion of the message. https://forms.microsoft.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=sEuKbhv9NkS8LDHpJyyrQzGeUpGRbNBArzz2kYji7EBUMkpIQzFCT1QxRUtJSENYVjJJQ0dRNjBSVS4u
We will make diplomas available to be picked up in the main parking lot of the school on June 9th from 3-5. Diplomas that are not picked up will be mailed home, but we wanted to provide this option as I know many of you are eager to get your diploma. This will be a sidewalk pick up process like the cap and gown distribution.
If you have any additional items that need returned to school, please bring them to school at any of the following times. June 8th from 3-5 or June 9th from 9-11 in the Awing parking lot or on the 9th between 3-5 when you pick up your diploma.
We believe that yearbooks are in the process of being printed after the plant that was printing them had been closed due to COVID-19. When we receive a date for distribution, we share that that information on Facebook so please be on the lookout.
Attached to this message is a special letter to the Class of 2020 from the Maryland Senate. Classof2020Wicomico.pdf
I know that we still have a few things left to finish with graduation and diplomas, but I already feel that sense of missing. This has been such a special group of seniors, who will always hold a special place in history and who will truly be missed at JMB.
I hope you take time to enjoy graduation and have a great weekend. Clipper Strong!!!
